Who are we?

The Platte Watershed Program is managed by Dr. Tom Franti, Surface Water Management Specialist and Assistant Professor in the department of Biological Systems Engineering at the University of Nebraska. Dr. Franti has a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering and specializes in surface water engineering.

Gary Lingle, serves as the Platte Watershed Program Coordinator through an appointment as an Extension Educator in the Cooperative Extension Division of the University of Nebraska. Mr. Lingle has a Masters of Science Degree in Forestry (Wildlife Ecology option) and specializes in ornithology and habitat stewardship.

The program is a result of a partnership between the University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension Service and the Water Center/Environmental Programs, along with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region VII and the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service.
