What is the Platte Watershed Program?

The University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension's Platte Watershed Program (PWP) is a unique extension program designed to address the information, education, and research needs of stakeholders in the Platte River Watershed. The PWP links the applicable resources of the University of Nebraska and experience of the PWP staff to the needs of a wide range of stakeholders throughout the basin.

The management of the Platte River is currently being evaluated in several areas to determine how and if the system can provide water for its multiple economic and ecological uses. As this dialogue continues, the PWP will continually strive to assist and inform stakeholders in the watershed of those issues that affect the management of the Platte River.
