Objectives

The mission of the Platte Watershed Program is to empower the public to make informed water resource policy decisions. Guided by stakeholder input, the program is addressing the following areas of need in the Platte Watershed:

Provide direct input into planning efforts such as the tri-state Cooperative Agreement and the Platte River Grand Island to Columbus Corridor Initiative.
The Platte Watershed Program administers these programs by working hand-in-hand with regulatory agencies, municipalities, special interest groups, and conservation organizations. As a stakeholders-responsive program that utilizes the watershed planning process, the Platte Watershed Program represents a unique endeavor of a Land-Grant institution to facilitate the multiple uses of a watershed.
