Objectives
The mission of the Platte Watershed Program is to empower the public to make informed water resource policy decisions. Guided by stakeholder input, the program is addressing the following areas of need in the Platte Watershed:
Provide direct input into planning efforts such as the tri-state Cooperative Agreement and the Platte River Grand Island to Columbus Corridor Initiative.
Provide educational opportunities through symposia and outreach (engagement)
programs such as the annual Platte River Basin Ecosystem Symposium and
the Platte River Ecology Workshop for Educators.
Promote partnerships by working with state agencies, non-governmental organizations,
and federal agencies in implementing community-based environmental protection
programs.
