POLICY FOR ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW
OF EXTERNAL FUNDING PROPOSALS

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this policy is to keep administration informed of potential program initiatives and their fiscal impact.

APPLICABILITY:

These review procedures apply to proposals developed by any faculty or administrative entity of IANR that meets the criteria listed below. Proposals are defined as submissions for external funding made to governmental agencies, the University of Nebraska Foundation, private foundations, business and industry or private individuals to carry out a University program.

All proposals must be routed through the appropriate Deans/Directors.

Proposals meeting the following criteria must be routed through the Vice Chancellor's office for signature prior to submission to the gift/grant/contract entity.

  1. Any project that requires an actual cash matching commitment by the University.

  2. Any project being transmitted to the University of Nebraska Foundation.

  3. Any project that provides funding for items previously requested from other sources (i.e., state general fund).

The Deans/Directors will submit to the IANR Vice Chancellor monthly reports of or all projects totaling $100,000 or more and all projects (regardless of magnitude) if they are considered to be of a sensitive nature.
